l served traditional education in urban, suburban, rural, and collegiate environments for 35 years. This has included working as a Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher, Principal, Director of Pupil Personnel Services, Supervisor of the ESL (English as a Second Language) Program, and Assistant to the Superintendent for Family and Community Engagement and Volunteerism. My educational work also included serving as an Adjunct Professor of Multicultural Education Professor at Chatham and Seton Hill Universities for countless years. I chose to retire to devote my attention to resolving the problem of low levels of family engagement that permeates many classrooms and schools as well as adversely impacts countless educators and parents.
The mission of my business called "Families With Us" is to ignite family engagement. In addition to being the CEO, I primarily function as a "Family Engagement Influencer". My book entitled "Repair the Broken Pieces: A System to Awaken Positive Relations Between the Family and Educational Provider Through Engagement Fusion" establishes the foundation of my work.
Along with being a writing creator in over 20 publications on Medium, I also create content on Vocal Media. I also produce video content on my "Ignite Family Engagement" YouTube and TikTok channels. Additionally, I maintain an active presence on other social media platforms that including LinkedIn, my Facebook Business Page, Twitter, and Instagram to empower and educate educators and parents.
I provide services for teachers, school leaders, parent groups, and college and university students who are future educators. These include being a workshop presenter, keynote speaker, and guest writer for publications. I also remain available to participate in podcasts, radio, and television interviews. Finally, I transformed the message embedded in my book into an e-learning course for educators. While I am an approved continuing education provider for the Pennsylvania Department of Education, educators anywhere will obtain 30-continuing education credits upon the completion of this online program.
My most important role in life is being a mother. This inspires me to share content that empowers parents to improve their engagement practices with their children in their homes.
My content also includes personal development themes. To for a mother or father to serve their families well, they must become the best version of themselves.
All that I represent professionally circles back to my training as a Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher.
